This thing has some of the most annoying sound effects and grating music I've ever heard, and that's not good when we're talking about Road Runner. While browsing Youtube for "Looney Tunes", I was thrilled to see a run-through of the Sega Road Runner game that I always wanted to see and never did. I did a post on this blog ages ago concerning Road Runner's Death Valley Rally, one of the best games ever for the Super Nintendo.
Sure, we all had that friend down the street who we played Sonic the Hedgehog with, then they'd come play Mario with us.īut both systems had cartoon games. I always stuck to the Nintendo, but there were a few Sega games that I was always curious about and never got to see.
Most of us either had a Super Nintendo or a Sega, and both Nintendo and Sega were always trying to "one-up" each other. Extra lives can be obtained by collecting icons in the shape of the Road Runner's or Wile E.'s head.If you were a 90's kid, chances are you remember the Sega Genesis video game system. If the number of lives in stock is completely exhausted the game ends prematurely. and extra time can be added to the timer by collecting clocks. Health can be replenished by consuming piles of bird seed as the Road Runner or by consuming jars of vitamin pills as Wile E. The player will lose a life if the health bar is fully depleted or if the allotted time runs out. The player also has a limited amount of time to complete each level which is displayed at the bottom of the screen. Both characters can run in a short burst of speed by using ""Turbo Boost"" icons scattered within the levels.Īs either character the player is given a limited amount of health that is displayed as a red bar on the upper-left side of the screen and is depleted by taking damage from traps and hazards or as the Road Runner coming into contact with Wile E. can pounce in an effort to capture the Road Runner. if he is positioned behind him while Wile E. The Road Runner has the ability to use his signature beeping vocalization to startle Wile E. can repeatedly capture the Road Runner with the aid of special ACME gadgets. As either character the player must traverse through a series of five levels and a final boss stage the Road Runner must do so while evading Wile E.
